    [2010-06-13 15:27:08] GetFileVersion(): C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe
    [2010-06-13 15:27:08]    File version: 1.0
    [2010-06-13 15:27:08]    Build number: 5
    [2010-06-13 15:27:08]    Revision number: 0

    Your version of AdobeARM.exe is 1.0.5.0. Latest version is 1.1.7.0

    You probably won't find any files in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.2\ARM\ARM Update\ as you haven't managed to connect to the download URL. Try cutting and pasting the URL into your browser to determine if you can actually reach the download page.

    [2010-06-13 15:35:11] Command line: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.2\ARM\ARM Update\ReaderUpdater.exe C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.2\ARM\ARM Update\ReaderUpdater.exe

    [2010-06-13 15:35:11]    Error Code: 0x2

    Check that the above file actually exists (ReaderUpdater.exe) Error Code: 0x2 is 'The system cannot find the file specified'

    [2010-06-13 15:35:42] C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.2\ARM\ARM.msi
    [2010-06-13 15:35:42]    GetLastError(): 0x5 - Access is denied.

    [2010-06-13 15:35:42] C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.2\ARM\
    [2010-06-13 15:35:42]    GetLastError(): 0x5 - Access is denied.

    AdobeARM is trying to update itself and is not able to. Check that the ARM.msi is present and accessible

    A possible workaround is to manually download and install the updates or if you only use Reader, try uninstalling and install a freshly downloaded version.

    Yes I am using Win 7 so does this mean we can never update?

    This is possibly a Windows Installer error and not an Acrobat error. From the MS support site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/229683 error 1602 seems to be 'User Cancel Installation'!!!

    Can you post last section of info from AdobeARM.log file?

    The file is in the User's Temp folder.

    I'm having a somewhat similar problem. I have Adobe CS4 Design Premium, and yet the Adobe Updater for Acrobat tries to run; when it does, it comes up with error 1602. (This machine does not have Reader.)
