I'm trying to print a TIF file to convert in a printable/Press Quality pdf file and have the following problem/error message.

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[ Error: Helvetica not found. Font cannot be embedded. ]%%
%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: findfont ]%%

Stack:
/Font
/Helvetica
/_Helvetica
[39 /quotesingle 96 /grave 130 /quotesinglbase /florin /quotedblbase
/ellipsis /dagger /daggerdbl /circumflex /perthousand /Scaron
/guilsinglleft /OE /.notdef /.notdef /.notdef /.notdef /quoteleft
/quoteright /quotedblleft /quotedblright /bullet /endash /emdash
/tilde /trademark /scaron /guilsinglright /oe /.notdef /.notdef
/Ydieresis]

%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

I have Helvetica installed and the file does not have any type layers - it is just a plan picture. Can anyone guide me into the right direction?

Thank You.

Suggestion 1 did not apply and suggestion 2 is complicated. Surely there must be s simpler solution?

But thank you - I appreciate it.

Hi there

The post script error usually occurs when you try to print a secured PDF file as Adobe PDF (Refrying.)

Please try to remove the security from the file and then try again and see if that works. If you have got this file from a different user please ask him/her to remove the security settings from the document for you.

Hope this information will help

Regards

Amal

You can save a tiff as a Photoshop pdf from Photoshop, no need to print to postscript.

Not for offset printing. I'm doing pre-press work.

But thanks for the tip.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but your best bet might be to place your tiff into an InDesign page at the desired size and cropping, include bleed in the document set up, and export to PDF/X4.
