When trying to print to Adobe PDF, doesn't matter the program, tried Word, Excel, Notepad, Firefox, Edge, I get an error, no other information just says error, but then usually creates the file, after which the file stays in queue for Adobe PDF, then I have to go and delete it from the queue. Adobe PDF properties shows that it is trying to use COM1: Serial Port. From what I can find, it is supposed to be using Documents\*.pdf. Documents\*.pdf is not listed as an option I have already tried removing the existing printer and then adding it back but the Documents\*.pdf is still not a port option, tried repairing the installation, when I do the printer comes back, but still trying to use COM1 Serial Port with same result. If I go to file and use Save as Adobe PDF in Word\Excel it creates the file without problem. If I use the Acrobat Tab, and choose Create PDF, it creates the file without any problem. So it is not like Acrobat is not able to create the files. So I have my own workaround(s), but need to get this resolved so that it is working properly and for the others that don't have the patience or don't like change. Up until I got back from training Friday, everything was working properly. Only other thought is that the Tuesday update from Microsoft may have knocked something out again, that is what I will be looking into next.
Using Windows Server 2012 R2, Adobe Acrobat 2020 Professional (not adobe reader)
Thanks for any suggestions,
Richard

Update
The Windows update pushed out was not the problem.
Fixed this problem by completely uninstalling Adobe Acrobat, at this point the adobe printer on the wrong port was still listed so I deleted it. After deleting I looked through a different printer and the COM1: port was still showing Adobe PDF under Description. After I restarted I then used the Adobe removal tool AcroCleaner, https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html
Caution.. read their notes and warnings before using to make sure you want to do this and to see what you may have to do for other installed Adobe products after cleaner is run, after removal tool has run.
After AcroCleaner ran I restarted again, and once computer rebooted, I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020. This time the Adobe printer driver showed to be the Documents\*.pdf. I tested printing to the Adobe PDF and everything is now working properly.
I am not sure what caused the problem, but I now it fixed. I tried reinstalling at the beginning, but that did not resolve the problem, only thing I could think of is that because the COM1: Port stilled showed Adobe PDF link, reinstall just used the same configuration instead of repairing the error. The AcroCleaner I believe was necessary to remove the link so that Adobe Acrobat could reinstall the proper port information. Maybe someone else who has this problem will come up with a solution that does not involve uninstalling, running the AcroCleaner and reinstalling but I ran out of time, and just needed it fixed so I could no longer troubleshoot the problem.

New Update, after everything was working properly Adobe updated itself, and then asked to restart computer, after restart, back to same problem Adobe trying to use COM1 Serial Port, and Documents\*.pdf is missing again. It looks like the problem for me is with update Mar 09, 2022 20.005.3031x Adobe is pushing out.
