Escape key accidents, Acrobat, MacBook pro touchbar

I use Acrobat to write quick home improvement contracts. My document is setup with text fields I can tab between.  The main text is a large box where I list the terma and conditions. My problem is that sometimes my large fingers brush the touchbar escape key while I'm typing the terms in this box. This erases all my text with no recovery. This annoying problem has been going on for several years for me and I can't find a preference that would help.

Any Ideas??

Type the text elsewhere and then copy it into this field. I'm not aware of any way of disabling this feature in Acrobat.

Have you tried a quick save every so often?

Maybe if the large field was broken in 3 smaller ones, you would not loose so much.

I am usually writing these proposals and contracts in the field, in my vehicle, so it’s hard to remember to do quick saves. None of this would be a problem if it was a regular keyboard key.

My clumsy fingers has led me to start using a mechanical <clicky> external keyboard, and it helps with accuracy and avoids the frequent mis-clicks that I am prone to.  I've seen little ones that might work for 'in the truck' entry, but certainly wouldn't be convenient.
