Export PDF to Word and retain formatting

New Here ,

I am exporting a PDF that has embedded slides on it to Word and the formatting of the text in the slides is not being retained but the rest of the text is. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi Mattymel

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described when exporting the PDF to Word the formatting of the text in the slides is not retained.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs Please try with a different PDF file and check?

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.05.20048 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates and reboot the computer.

What is the workflow/steps you are doing to export the PDF?

Please try the following settings and see if that helps:

Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Converting from PDF > Word Document > Select 'Retain page layout' > Click OK and see if that helps.

Also, you may try to export the PDF via Document cloud  - https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/  and check if that works

Let us know how it goes

This worked phenomenally! The only isssue is that the typography changed. Is there any way to avoid this? If not, can I change the document back to PDF or InDesign document? and If I could, would the typography be editable then?

The document was initially InDesign format, needed to be changed to Word, edited, and then return doc in its original format.
