Extended Usage rights

I am using Acrobat Pro DC (2015) and trying to figure out how to enable rights for the latest version of Acrobat Reader. As I go the the steps I've found, File>Save as Other>Reader Extended PDF>Enable more tools" when I click save now I get a error message "This document could not be Reader enable!"

Any Idea why this save to Enable rights is not working.

What is your solution?

Hi Abambo,

This will be lengthy, the fillable form I’ve been using was created in Designer years ago and unknown to me Designer files and Acrobat files don’t work well together. This is how its done; I opened the file in Acrobat Pro DC and using the left panel I opened the ‘Page Thumbnail’ then ‘Extract Page’ and in the open dialog box checked the ‘Extract Pages to a Separate File’, Click ‘OK’ then save this with the same file name at the same location as the original.  Now when this converted file is opened it reacts as a true Acrobat file. Unfortunately, the extensive formatting I used in the LiveCycle program has been removed. On the bright side I now have a form, anyone can open in Reader, fill in the blanks and save it to their computer!  Solved! No need to create Reader Usage Rights anymore.

Going back 15 years or so, when I created fillable forms, LiveCycle Designer was my go-to software.

Adding Reader Extension is not more possible with this old version of Acrobat Pro.

The latest version of Reader doesn't need those rights.

Hello Try67, thank you for a quick response.  While I was tested my form, I used the newest ver of Reader, but the save icon was greyed out. It made me think I needed to enable right in my Acrobat Pro DC.

Any ideas as to why the Reader can't save the form? Even when I go to File>Save As a message say the form can not be saved. Thank again.

Strange. What's the exact text of the error message?
