Extremely slow to export a pdf to Excel

Hi

I am trying to export a pdf document to excel and it takes a very long time. Somestimes, it does not work at all. I am running a pc more than adequate specs - 8GB RAM, Intel i7 CPU. Please can you advise why Acrobat fails to convert and states "Out of Memory" ? If the file size is small (perhaps up to 5 pdf pages), then it will eventially export, but it is very slow.

Please advise, this is the primary reason I purchased this software, and it is not acceptable for a paying membership.

Thanks

Hi Prizen,

Sorry for the delayed response.

Are you still facing this issue? If yes, check if an update is available for Acrobat using "check for updates" option under "Help" menu, reboot the machine after installing update and try again. You may also download updates from here: Adobe - Adobe Reader : For Windows

Also, try disabling protected view/enhanced security under Edit > Preferences > Security (enhanced) in Acrobat and check if that helps.

Please note: disabling protected view/enhanced security is for troubleshooting purpose only, and not recommended. Please turn the feature back on after troubleshooting is complete.

Visit this link for more info on : Protected View feature for PDFs (Windows), Adobe Reader

Thank You,

Shivam

Hi - I just had the same problem, none of the solutions recommended by Shivam/Adorobat helped.

I finally got it to work by doing these steps:

1)  Open the pdf file in Adobe Acrobat Reader, then print it out using the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer option.

2)  Save the new, printed pdf as a new version of your pdf.

3)  Then open the new pdf in Adobe Acrobat Reader, and export to Excel/Word.

I noticed that my original pdf file had a locked header - apparently that was too difficult for the converter to handle.  Printing it to pdf removed the locked header and possibly other "fancy" stuff in the pdf, and created a pdf simple enough for Adobe's converter to handle.

I'd expect better from Adobe, but this workaround should solve some problems until they can make their converter more robust.
