F2 Rename function opens Help

When bookmarking a PDF, I paste the text into the newly created bookmark. I then hit F2 to add the appendix number.

As of yesterday, the F2 key opens the Adobe User Guide instead of letting me edit the text. If I wanted that, I'd use F1. This is happening on multiple computers, so I don't think it's my keyboard or the file. It's unique to Adobe - MSOffice is fine.

What changed? 

I know I can double-click, but frankly, as on old-timer, I prefer to use the keyboard and work faster.

    The fix is available with the latest update of Acrobat version 20.009.20065, please install the latest update from the help menu of the application>select check for updates, reboot application and try the F2 key functionality.

    Have you started experiencing this behavior after installing the new version 20.009.20063? To check the version of the application go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC

     

    With this new version, we have released a new feature called contextual help content. Acrobat now provides contextual help that allows single-click access to the help content in the context of the tool or feature you’re using. For example, If you are using the Edit tool, clicking the Help menu, or help (?) icon, or pressing the F1 key takes you to the Edit PDF help page.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Please use Ctrl-F2 for renaming function.

    I think I speak for the person who posted the original comment when I say: We aren't asking for a fancy way to access help. We want the standard Rename function to use the F2 keyboard shortcut, as it works in pretty much any other Windows program ever.

      Apparently they did this on purpose, and I think it's the dumbest idea ever. Apparently you are now supposed to use Ctrl-F2 for renaming, which is awkward and counter to every other PC use of F2 for renaming. I remediate a TON of PDFs for accessibility, and this is a huge frustration to me. 

       

      AMEN: If I wanted help, I'd select F1 like in every other application on the planet.
