Fatal error,Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server

I have Acrobat DC on my Windows 7 pro desktop and I cannot open the software, nor can I open any pdf attached to an e-mail today.  I keep getting this error message: "Fatal error, Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server."

Hi dacush,

Please try to repair installation from the Control panel > Programs and Features.

Select the application from the list and right click on it.

Then click on change and select Repair.

You may also try the troubleshooting steps provided in this thread: I have been getting the "acrobat fail to send a DDE command"
