FileOpen stops Acrobat Opening

New Here ,

I have several PDFs that are protected and will only open if I have the FileOpen app installed.  I've had these for a few years, however, this week Acrobat will not open if I have the FileOpen app installed.  If I try to open the PDF it opens a browser and prompts for the FileOpen.exe and installation of the app.  If I do that Acrobat will not open.  Any suggestions?

Shot in the dark here, but do you have the latest version of FileOpen installed when you try this?

Same problem here, I was running version 996 but i've updated to 998. Nothing have changed.
I have 20 computer blocked by this thing for weeks now with Win10 Pro and Win 11 Pro some still with version 996, the moment you go to uninstall the Adobe plug-in it starts working again.

Same Probleme here! Acrobat .pngencrypted data can no longer be opened with Acrobat, even though I am using FileOpen Systems and everything had been working perfectly for months. Now, the document no longer opens, but it is shown as a background process in the Task Manager.

Acrobat works perfectly fine without FileOpen. I have also set the ForegroundFlashCount value to 0 in the registry. Running Acrobat as an administrator does not help either.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Acrobat and FileOpen, but this did not resolve the issue.

I received a response from BSI.  It appears there is an issue with a Windows update and FileOpen.  In the meantime there are two workarounds on the Fileopen webiste - see link   Issue with Adobe Acrobat/Reader under Windows 11 24H2 (fileopen.com)

The first worked for me.
