Fillable form user can't see highlighted areas *PLEASE HELP*

I have created a fillable form for users to fill out.  I want them to see the fillable spots easily similar to when I am creating the forms and the spots are a grey-ish/blue colour.  Is there a setting that I can change so the user can see the areas they are required to fill out without having to hover over the area on the form? For reference, I want the user to see it similar to Picture 1 and not Picture 2.  Thank you!
