font no longer visible Acrobate Pro DC

Hello,

While modifying my PDF document, all the text I had previously added in different text boxes in Times New Roman became invisible.

Instead, I see a couples of "1" in the text box or nothing. If I select the content of the text box and change the font, the text reappears. I can then put it back to Times New Roman and see it.

But I have about a thousand addition in my document. The rest of the document is in many different fonts. I can not select the whole document and change the font.

I have tried all the fix for problems that looked similar but non of them worked.

I have had this problem before (around October 2019). I was able to fix it then but I don't remember how and can not found the article I had found then with a solution.

I have the latest version of Acrobat Pro DC 20.006.20042 on a PC in Windows 10.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I can't recreate the original: it consists of 450 pages created in the 1990s, photocopied many times and then scanned. The original includes some drawings and some handwriting. I have been editing the copyright on each page. I replaced the hand writing with typed text and I removed the most of the black spots from photocopying.

I have run a report but I don’t understand what the results means.

The font that stops displaying is Times New Roman. I know it is available on my computer. When I change the font to Tahoma inside the PDF file and change the text box back to Times New Roman, it is displaying properly. But I have over a 1000 text boxes that have disappeared. Those text boxes are in the middle of other styles of text boxes so I would have to select them one by one to use this method as a fix. And it doesn't guaranty that the problem will not occur again next time I reopen the file.

The display issue happened while I was modifying the file. I opened it and everything was fine and then it changed.

All my older versions have the same display problem when I open them now.

I attach my report in case it means something to you.
