Form Field not allowing me to edit

Participant ,

I'm running Acrobat 2020.

I have a fill-in form with a bunch of fields.

I created a read only field that is visible only (will not print.)

I put text in the field that says "Sign here after printing out the form."

Now when I want to move or edit the field, I go into Prepare Form and click on the field.  The borders turn blue, but there aren't any little square boxes to allow me to select, resize or change any of the properties.  When I do click on Properties, the window opens but everything is "greyed" out and I can't make any changes.  I can't even delete the field.  I've never seen this happen before.

Does it happen with only this one field? If so, it might have gotten corrupted. You can delete it using the Redaction tool. Then add a new field in its place.

Thanks, TRY67,

My apologies.  I NEVER "lock" fields, so I didn't think to look for that checkbox in Properties, but after I was searching for how to use the redaction tool, as you suggested, I opened the Properties windows again and noticed a check in the "Locked" checkbox.  I'm soooo stupid sometimes.

Even though your suggestion of using the redaction tool didn't help, but for your suggestion, I would never have retried to solve this issue.  So, I’m going to mark your suggestion as “CORRECT”.  As always, thank you for your help.
