Hi,
I’m running Acrobat Pro (through Creative Cloud Pro) with AI Assistant for Acrobat ($4.99 monthly plan), Version 2025.001.20937.
Whenever I try the generative summary it starts the job, but stops approximately midway after generating roughly 1500-1600 words. And then after about 20 seconds the generated text disappears with the following error message: “Generative summary didn’t find anything to summarize in this file.”
Is there a way to get it to work properly? Am I doing anything wrong?
Most the documents I try to summarize are between 300-600 pages. Is there a max document length for it to function properly?
Any help greatly appreciated--thanks!
R

@Richard17472957sil1 hmmm, I am curious to know if the PDF that you are trying to get a 'generative summary' if the PDF contains selectable text or is just images? Online resources does say that the PDF can't be more than 600 pages, but, I would do a test run on smaller chunks, maybe do 5 chapters to give you a better output. Also, you mentioned the desktop app, try using the web-version app. Sometimes the web-version might handle the document size differently. You can try uploading your PDF there and running the summary.
