Hi,

Is it possible to share a PDF with an external user, and have the tracking accessible to two ore more users?

E.g.:

  • persons A and B work for company X
  • perosn C works for company Y
  • person A @ company X shares the PDF
  • Person C @ company Y reads the PDF
  • person B @ company X tracks whether person C has viewed the PDF or made comments

Hi Marcus,

Hope you are doing well, as described you want to share the PDF and track the activity on it.

You can quickly share a link to a PDF document with others for viewing or commenting. The document shared as a link opens in any browser, on any device. The document is stored securely in Adobe Document Cloud. Recipients get an email with a link, and they can click the link to view and comment on the document in a browser

For more information about sharing and tracking the PDF please look at the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/sharing-pdfs.html and see if that helps.

Hi Amal,

Thank you for the link to the help page.  Could you please describe how I can see the activity of files shared by one of my colleagues?

Thanks,

Marcus

Hi there

The files that you have recently shared are listed in Home > Recent. When the recipient views the file, you get a notification in Acrobat and an email.

You wont be able to track the activity of the files if you havent shared them nor you are a part of the commenting process.

For more information please look at the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/sharing-pdfs.html#track_shared_files
