Help - Acrobat Pro constantly closing two tabs when I close only one

New Here ,

This is very frustrating. I use Adobe Acrobat Pro at work and it recently started an annoying issue: when I have multiple pdfs open in tabs and I close one tab, it will very often also close the next tab to the right without me clicking on anything else or pushing any keyboard keys. It is happening with increased frequency. Workaround is obvious (always keep the tab to the left of those I need open until I'm done with the one on the right), but takes up real estate and interrupts workflow. This has got to be a bug - where is the update and fix?

Hi @Sarah38797512jb3x,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

I tried to reproduce the issue at my end but couldn't. This seems to me like an issue with the preferences.

Would you mind resetting them to default and trying again? Steps can be found here: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to defaul

If this doesn't work, please share a few pieces of information for further investigation:

1. The app version number of Acrobat you use (go to Help-> About Acrobat Pro DC);

2. The Windows version you are on;

3. A video recording of the entire event.

Look forward to hearing from you.

The glitch was pretty random anyway, so difficult to replicate. I tired resetting the preferences and that did not fix it. Next I uninstalled Acrobat Pro and reinstalled it and that seems to have resolved it.

Thank you.

@Sarah38797512jb3x Thanks for the response.

Just a heads-up. The team is also able to reproduce this in-house. Even though this is an edge case scenario, we will be working to get this fixed.

Thanks for reporting the issue.

I am having the same "edge case" issue.  Our IT precludes me from reinstalling Acrobat myself. so a fix or patch/update would be appreciated.

Hi! Just curious what the status is on the patch/update. I also have a user in our company with the same issue as of today 8/19/24. I'm going to have him uninstall/reinstall Acrobat to see if that helps, though.

Hello, is there an update on when this will be fixed? I am also experiencing this issue.

As an accountant working on the month close, I have many statements open. When multiple tabs close with a single click, it's incredibly frustrating.

@alisha_4602 This is a work in progress.

Cannot commit on the exact date, but should be fixed in the upcoming releases.

Thanks,

Souvik
