Historical question: Spell Checking Editable Text

Hi Acrobat friends:

Has Adobe Acrobat ever had the ability to natively spell-check content, or has it always been limited to comments and fields, without third party assistance?

I found this online but only in one location and no confirmation elsewhere so am skeptical:

The software has a built-in spell check functionality. Navigating to the Spell Check Option: Go to Edit > Check Spelling > In Comments, Fields, & Editable Text.

https://www.grackledocs.com/en/how-to-spell-check-on-a-pdf/#:~:text=Utilizing%20Adobe%20Acrobat's%20Spell%20Check&text=The%20software%20has%20a%20built,%2C%20Fields%2C%20%26%20Editable%20Text.

Thanks in advance,

~Barb

Correct answer try67

It does it automatically when you edit the text. It's not triggered through that command.

No, it never did, until recently.

I'm not seeing the option to spell check editable text in the most recent version, only comments and fields.

Is there an option to add words or ignore perceived errors, in line with the spellingcheck in MS-Words? My front page now permanently shows red bullets of misspelled under a streetname that Adobe does not recognise (which is understandable)

Thanks, @try67.

I don't see it though, in either the new or classic interface. 🤔 🤔
