Horrible new version! So slow/lags and can't keep up

Horrible new version! Is it just my Mac version? Horribly slow and doesn't respond until much later for EVERY SINGLE PDF I use. Add why does adding TEXT (NOT text box) open up editing instead of pointing to spot and adding text. Just awful. All my saved items on toolbar gone.
