Question

How can I create a multi-panel pdf from multiple files

I would like to create a pdf file made up of 4 image panels generated from 4 existing pdfs, e.g. Fig1.pdf on the upper left-hand side, Fig2.pdf on upper right, etc.

In Adobe, the options Create > Combine Files into Single pdf will merge Fig1.pdf through Fig4.pdf into a single pdf, but in linear order, giving me no control over position, size, etc.

Is there a straightforward way to create a multipanel figure (single pdf file) from multiple pdfs in the way that I describe in Adobe Acrobat?

Combine them to a single PDF and then print it out (Windows only) to the Adobe PDF printer using the Multiple (2x2) option.

For a finer tuning a script can also used to do this.

Hi,

You can add watermarks from your 4 pdf files on a single page.

So you can manage the size, the position, etc.

Where do I find the "add watermark" option? Presumably, for this to work, I need to first create a single blank pdf document and then import the 4 figures of interest as watermarks? Surely, there must be some more efficient way of merging pdfs into a single file with some control over their relative position. If Adobe Acrobat doesn't allow this, is there another Adobe tool that may be better suited?

In the Edit PDF tools then Watermark and add...

But Acrobat is not a page layout software as InDesign.
