How can I flatten someone else's PDF?

Hi all,

I know how to flatten my own InDesign documents (using an Adobe PDF preset / .joboptions), but how can I flatten someone else's artwork when it is already a PDF? I get the impression there isn't a way to do this via Acrobat, but surely I can do it somehow?

Cheers!

(Running latest Adobe CC)

Removing transparencies basically - and preferably outlining fonts too if possible.

Try the Preflight tool. To convert fonts into images you would need to export the file as images and then re-create it, though.

It doesn't matter who created the file. You should be able to flatten it, unless it has some kind of protection that prevents it.

Cheers for replying - and how would I go about flattening in Acrobat? In InDesign I'd go File > Export > and then select my Adobe PDF preset, but I can't find a way to do that on Acrobat.

Flattening can mean multiple things in Acrobat. What exactly do you want to achieve in this process?
