How can I remove the grey background from a scanned text image in Acrobat DC?

Hi,

I was sent a hardcopy of a 10-page scanned document and it has a dark grey background. I need to make a pdf of it. Is there a way I can remove the grey background from the pages using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?

You should use an image editing application (like Photoshop) to do that.

Hi Brad,

It's a hardcopy that was printed from a scan probably too many times and now there is just so much noise in the background that it is really speckled. If I use Photoshop, do I have to select and then select the inverse? This seems like it would take too much time. Is there a way in PS to just lighten the background of a multi-page pdf?

Can you post some screenshots? What you are probably seeing is the grey background of the reader not part of the actual document?
