When I try to do this I get an error message from Adobe saying that 64bit version of adobe does not support this file type, so do I need to get a 32 bit version ?

Thanks for your reply Amal I have sorted it now - I was using the wrong method in AutoCAD to export the file

It was someone on here called Luke Jennings who got straight to the bottom of what I was doing wrong

Have a good day

If the PDF is a correct PDF, it will get read by Acrobat. Please confirm that you are not trying to install a plug-in or similar, but that you are trying to read a PDF file.

If you attempt to convert an AutoCAD file into a PDF file, you should use AutoCAD to do so.

Hi Phil

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are unable to create PDF from AutoCAD and get the error saying that 64bit version of adobe does not support this file type.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC and the OS you are using? TO check the version go to help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.07.20099 installed. Go to help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also check for any missing/pending updates for OS.

You may also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Windows Only) and reboot the computer once and check.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/m-p/4792082

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

Regards

Amal
