How do i make a pdf editable but not copyable for my customers?

You can apply a security policy that prevents printing and extracting contents, but does allow filling in form fields. However, unless you also apply a file-open password it's trivial to remove it. And someone will always be able to take a screenshot of the file and get the contents out that way, of course... There's no real solution that's 100% secure, you'll just have to learn to live with that.

Do you mean the file itself should not be copyable (not possible), or its contents (possible, but quite easy to get around)?

I want my customers to be able to edit the contense of the documents and print out. But i dont want them to copy the document for resale. How do i do this?

Thank you so much for your help. What kind of Abobe software do i need to set security policies? I'm currently using Adobe Standard DC.


Yes, you can do it with that version of Acrobat. Go to File - Properties - Security and select "Password Security", and you'll be able to set it up there.

You can't stop copying of the whole document. You restricvt the usage of the document with DRM.
