How Do I Open Documents in Tabs in Adobe XI Pro Version 11.0?

I have the current version; when I file the instructions on other posts, the option to open documents in tabs does not appear. I have gone through all of the posts and cannot find a solution to this. I appreciate any help!

Thank you everyone. I am confused because I just renewed Adobe and downloaded from the website. Was this superceded by another version?

I am using the version that I downloaded with my new computer. According to my account, I am using Adobe Acrobat DC. I cannot tell which version and do not know how to change to the current version. I paid $179 for it then downloaded the app. I do not understand how I could pay for a current version and be given an outdated version upon download. Thank you for your help.

In any case you should update to 10.0.23 which is the latest version (Help Menu : Check updates)

You don't have the current version. XI is very, very old, and is no longer sold, or supported, or anything much.
