How do I reset my password for my Acrobat 9 Pro

How do I reset Acrobat 9 Pro version 9.5.5 password.  I paid for this application and don't want to spend money on buying it again, or having it on a monthly subscription, even if the latest version is better. Please help!

There is no “password” on the Acrobat Pro application.

Perhaps you are referring to the serial number necessary to install the software? If you have lost your serial number but have registered your program with Adobe, log onto the Adobe website, click on Manage Account, and from there you should be able to retrieve the serial number for that and other products you licensed directly.

If you are talking about a PDF file protected with a password, that is something that is document-specific and for which you will need to get the existing password from whoever sent you the PDF file.

Thanks for replying Dov. you often wonder if anyone does look at these questions. However... When I click on my Adobe Acrobat Pro application icon I get a small window come up in the middle of my screen with a padlock symbol with the adobe loo on it and the message Adobe Acrobat Pro wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this.  Under this text are two boxes with user name and password and the normal cancel and ok boxes.

So what do I do?

Really hope you can help.

This is for the Admin account on your computer. You should change the UAC setting to prevent it from showing up each time.
