Question

How do I turn off click "Post" with every edit and comment in Acrobat Pro on a Mac?

Right now, I have to select the text to highlight it, then the toolbar pops us so I choose 'comment' THEN I have to post the comment for it to take.

I should just be able to insert the edit and hit "return" instead of having to mouse over to the comment and POST IT. Even with just the insert text cursor, I still have to POST it for the edit to be made.

I have hundreds of edits to 30-page PDFs, and this is not an efficient way to edit. I can't find any tips online. Help!

Yes this is a TERRIBLE thing they have changed and really slows down the editing process 😞 I hope they revert it to how it used to be...even the Alt-Return isn't fast enough.

This is a very frustrating feature in the latest update. I can't understand why the change was made - what purpose does it serve?

@Teri37911592r8fy I have been able to click 'Add a Comment' tool in the tool bar as shown. And make a post quickly. I have over 90 students and I am making comments to some of their PDFs quickly.

Although, I made sure my comments were set-up in my Acrobat Preferences, keyboard shortcuts, Command K (Mac) or Control K (PC)

Hi @Teri37911592r8fy

Some upgrades have been made to the commenting feature with the July 2024 update. Check to see if you are using the latest updates: helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html
Also, if the feature behaves as you reported, you may use the UserVoice forum to share your feedback: https://acrobat.uservoice.com/

Feel free to reach out if you have further questions.

The update created the problem.
