In Adobe Acrobat Pro the "Find" feature doesn't find any word entered in the Find box.

I haven't had any issues with the "Find" feature. Have you checked your settings?
You could also try the advanced search...that gives you the option to search for a word/phrase in multiple documents at once. Just select the folder where the documents are located and it does all the work for you. I use it all the time to study/research topics in my e-textbooks. A huge timesaver for cross-referencing information.

Hi William,

Thank you for reaching out.

Would you mind sharing more details about the issue?

Are you experiencing this issue with a particular PDF? If yes, would you mind sharing the PDF and the word you are trying to find in that? It will help us to replicate the behavior and to provide you the right information.

Please try to check if you experience similar behavior with other PDFs.

Share the Acrobat and OS version you are working on.

Let us know if the issue is already resolved.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Meenakshi,

I didn't have the same problem with other PDFs, and it turned out that the pdf I had protected permissions and I am unable to locate the owner of the document.

Hey William,

Thank you for the information.

As JR Boulay suggested, please check if you can search any text in the PDF. If not, it might be the scanned PDF/ image only, as mentioned above. Try to run the OCR and check if that helps.

If possible, share the PDF with us to have a look. We will check the type of protection it has. However, it should not affect the Find feature.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Be sure that your document contains texts and that is not "image only". In this case you should run the OCR before searching.
