How do you get rid of Get Started pop up?

New Here ,
Sep 14, 2023 Sep 14, 2023

I just replaced my old computer and downloaded Adobe to my new one. Problem is, every time I open a new tab or start the program, I get a Get Started pop up. There is no option to skip or don't show this again. It might not be bad for the normal user, but I make hundreds of PDFs a day and it's a time killer!

I am having the same problem.  Very disruptive and annoying.  What is the fix Adobe?

I am also having this issue. It is extremely disruptive. I've unchecked the "Show me messages..." in General Preferences to no avail.

I uninstalled Adobe and re-installed with the Adobe pro link. That seemed to work for me.

I just tried that and it did not work. "Get Started" opens every time I open a PDF, even when I already have Acrobat open.

Hi @Caitlyn32284685slz7   could you pls share the screenshot of the "Get Started" dialog once? Is it a full dialog box or a horizontal strip on the top of pdf?
Isn't it going away once you click on "Get Started".

Here is the box I get every time Adobe opens or even if it is already open, when I open a PDF file.  We are talking over a 100 times a day.

Hey @Jennifer27262223wvnn Thanks for attaching it. It's a dialog which highlights what is new in the current release and this should come only once you have a new build installed at your end and should not come again once you click "x" (cross) on the dialog.
a) Which Operating system are you on?
b) Which Acrobat build are you on?

I have clicked "x" every single time it pops up.

a) Windows 11

b) 2023.006.20320

Thank you - we'll try to check it at our end
Meanwhile could you pleass share the registry
You can get from Registry editor (Run -> regedit) and go to path - Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC. Right click Export and share the reg file with me.
Thank you!

Shashank.  Glad your team is on it!  FYI - It's happening on Mac OS (Ventura 13.5.2) as well.  Screenshot attached.

@Shashank Jain Any update on this issue? It's still happening in Win11 as well - no way to disable. I'd really prefer to keep the new version of Acrobat enabled, but this is infuriating. Hopefully an update will be pushed out soon to fix this super annoying bug?

Hi @uccgco1 - yes pls be assured, it's our highest priority - soon with the upcoming release we will try our best to incorporate the fix.  We will update you on this thread once it's fixed which should be sooner. Thank you for constantly providing feedback and using Modern UI.

The latest Adobe Acrobat version (23.06.20360) released addresses this issue. Please update the application to the newest version using the following steps:

- In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help
- Select "Check for Updates."

Found an answer on another forum. This worked for me.

  • To disable the new experience,
    • Windows: Click the hamburger menu ( 3 lines ) at the upper left corner and choose Disable new Acrobat.
    • macOS: Go to View > Disable new Acrobat.
  • To reenable the new experience, go to View > Enable new Acrobat and click Restart.

I found this on another site as well but unfortunately it did not fix it for me.

We are running on a business plan though, with some settings disabled by the admiistrator, such as online file storage. So maybe there is a backend setting this changes that you need a higher level of permission for the fix to work. IDK, I just know it didn't solve it for me.

Thank you SO MUCH! I've been killing myself trying to find a fix for this... so infuriating! But, this seems to have solved it... and, as an added bonus, I liked the old Adobe UX better anyway. So, double-win.

Thank you again.
