Question

How do you get rid of Get Started pop up?

I just replaced my old computer and downloaded Adobe to my new one. Problem is, every time I open a new tab or start the program, I get a Get Started pop up. There is no option to skip or don't show this again. It might not be bad for the normal user, but I make hundreds of PDFs a day and it's a time killer!

Hi All,

The latest Adobe Acrobat version (23.06.20360) released addresses this issue. Please update the application to the newest version using the following steps:

- In Acrobat, go to Menu > Help
- Select "Check for Updates."

For more information about the new release, refer to the following link: Adobe Acrobat Release Notes.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Meenakshi

this is very very irritating - there is no way to stop this - Adobe needs to fix - it feels like this past 5 years adobe has certainly tanked

I have same problem.

Is there a workaround?

Thanks

See post above from Jennifer27262223wvnn.  This seems to work.  Need to disable "new Acrobat" -- then re-enable it.  This worked for me, and seems to work for others.

Same issue and if you close a file prior to hitting the x on the Get Started screen it causes the app to freeze and the only option is to End Task in Task Manager.

I work with 100s of files a day and this screen should be an opt out!

Found an answer on another forum. This worked for me.

  • To disable the new experience,
    • Windows: Click the hamburger menu ( 3 lines ) at the upper left corner and choose Disable new Acrobat.
    • macOS: Go to View > Disable new Acrobat.
  • To reenable the new experience, go to View > Enable new Acrobat and click Restart.

Hi @Caitlyn32284685slz7   could you pls share the screenshot of the "Get Started" dialog once? Is it a full dialog box or a horizontal strip on the top of pdf?
Isn't it going away once you click on "Get Started".

Here is the box I get every time Adobe opens or even if it is already open, when I open a PDF file.  We are talking over a 100 times a day.

Hey @Jennifer27262223wvnn Thanks for attaching it. It's a dialog which highlights what is new in the current release and this should come only once you have a new build installed at your end and should not come again once you click "x" (cross) on the dialog.
a) Which Operating system are you on?
b) Which Acrobat build are you on?
