I have tried saving the PDF's via enabling the more tools option, however, when opening in a broswer, the date function is not available to be used. Please can someone advise

The Date Picker came with Acrobat DC, if you open the form with an older version of Acrobat you won't see it either.

"So I assume theres nothing that I can do to stop this from happening by saving the form differently? "

Yes.

It has nothing to do with the form or the PDF format: the date picker is a feature of the software used to open the form.

The date picker is a feature provided by the software, not by the document.

When you open a PDF in a browser, it is very likely that you are not opening the PDF in Acrobat. In fact, most browsers have thier own PDF Viewers. So Acrobat ( and Adobe ) is not involved in any way. These 3rd party browser viewers do not implement the automatic calendar popup. Only the real Adobe Acrobat product implements the popup calendar.

May be that the PDF viewer of the browser doesn't support this. Contact the support of the browser.

I have tried with other browsers and also through Adobe and yet this is still happening? This makes me believe this isnt the Browser but an Adobe fault?

Open the form in Adobe Acrobat DC and you will see the calendar.
