Question

How do you resend a PDF for Comments that has been updated based on the reviews?

I am using the Send for Comments (on the Adobe cloud) feature in Acrobat and the first go around workd fine.

However, it is not obvious how to resend the PDF for Comments after the original document has been updated based on the reviews.

Any ideas on how to send a revised PDF for review and the reviewers still have access to the prior comments?

Thanks,

Hi @TheisMe,

Hope you are doing well. Thanks for writing in!

When you made the changes to the document, you might have been prompted to save a local copy of the file by Acrobat.

That local copy should contain all the comments from the users who have reviewed the file. So, once you are done with the changes, you can re-share the local copy with the same set of users, and they should have access to the previous comments.

Hope this helps.

Hi Souvik,

I did not mention the original source of the PDF is in Word. I make the changes in Word and then export it to a PDF.

If I re-upload that PDF, will the previous comments remain?

Thanks,

Mary

Hi Mary,

If you make the changes to the PDF directly instead of making them to the word file, the comments should.

Also, you can export the comments to the same word file. More info here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/importing-exporting-comments.html.

This will help you get the comments in line to the document in case you decide to make the changes in Word instead of Acrobat.

Later, you can export the word file to PDF along with the comments. Steps here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/how-can-i-save-a-word-document-into-a-pdf-with-the/08dd977a-7a9b-4f33-8723-c23b836e5a8d.

Hope this helps.
