HI,

 

(on the latest Acrobat DC version)

 

- With your document open

- Select File -> Save As Other -> Press-Ready PDF ( PDF/X)

- Then Select "Settings" in the dialog that appears

- The option should then be shown

Malcolm, 

None of those options are simple pdfx-1a:2001. Ingram has rejected every pdf saved in any of those formats and then on a different day accepted all of them. When I specifically asked which one (gracol, fogra,  japan) they just said 1a:2001.  So which of the three options are you using?  I was leaning toward the gracol, but that's 2006. But it is grayscale and the website says 2001 grayscale.
