How to create a protected pdf from a word file?

Hello all,

I look for an option that allows me to create a protected file from a word doc.

On a regular basis I create pdf's from word. However, these pdf's are not protected and I need to do this manually every time. At least, I haven got a clue how to automate this.

Your help is appreciated.

Kees

If Windows, click on the Acrobat ribbon tab and click preferences.

You can also automate the process in Acrobat. I prefer this method since I like to review the PDF in Acrobat before I secure it.

Thanks for quick reply.

However, it is for MacOS.

Ideally, I create from a word doc.

eg I click on 'save as' or 'print' and then use 'adobe pdf' as tool. However, it doesnt look like it picks up on my Adobe settings.

Outlook is my default emailreader.
Why is this important for word docs and pdf's?

Sorry--I had too many browser windows open and was mixing up my posts.

You will have to add security in Acrobat. The Acrobat ribbon tab in Word for Mac is super basic.

You can automate this in Acrobat Pro with default security policy settings or with an actions.
