How to create change bars in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?

Hello!

I'm editing a document with the Pro version and I'd like to create change bars to easy track the changes.

Is this possible? 

I have the change bars in the Word document, but when I accept the changes and convert to PDF the change bars disappear.

I'll appreciate your feedback!

    Framemaker, like Word, is a proper document editor. Don't be fooled Acrobat is NOT a proper document editor. Its editing tools are only suitable for the smallest of changes. PDFs are just not suitable for this.

     

    I think your answer lies in Word. I can't remember the details, but is there a "print change bars" option? I think it may also apply to making a PDF.

    Acrobat does not have a Track Changes option, like Word does.

    I guess it's possible with FrameMaker, which I dont have....

    FrameMaker has change bars but it won't work on a PDF.

     

    The only things I could think of...

    • Use the comment tools to note the edits before you make them. 
    • Use a third-party plugin such as Markzware to convert the PDF to InDesign, then use track changes in InDesign. (Note: ID only tracks text edits, not format changes.)
    • If the PDF was created in Word, InDesign, or FrameMaker, you can make comments in the PDF where you want the changes, then import the changes back into the original program with track changes turned on.
