How to display hamburger icon in 2023 Adobe Acrobat or Reader interface?

When bringing up the 2023 version of Adobe Acrobat Pro or Reader in Windows 10, the hamburger icon is not visible in the upper left corner or anywhere else in the Adobe interface.   So far, I find no menu option or setting that would or should display the hamburger icon (presumably in the upper left corner of the Adobe interface).

Searching community posts, I find no instructions or steps that would enable me to display the hamburger icon in the Windows (10) version of 2023 Acrobat Pro or Reader.

Question:  How can I display the hamburger icon for the first time in a new Windows 10 installation of 2023 Acrobat Pro or Reader?

Thanks so much!

Robert

I just bought adobe pro 2020 and I don't have the "hamburger" icon either. I don't have the enable feature in the "view" tab either. I'm just stuck with the newest version with the majority of the tools on the right side.

I would like to move this tool bar to the top of the page, where it should be, but cannot find a way to do so.

Hi @Stephanie33898560qo9d

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

To learn more about the new Acrobat please go through the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/learn-new-acrobat.html and see if that works for you.

Try this keyboard shortcut to bring up the Hamburger menu: Alt + F.

This is a classic "Catch 22" (from the famous book by Joseph Heller). You need to be able to access the Hamburger Menu (formerly the File Menu) in order to control whether you can see the Hamburger icon or not. But if you can't see the icon, how are you to know the magic keyboard shortcut to bring up the menu?

Worst interface design ever!

I have had nothing but issues with this October update. We can't even disable anything. first we get this.... which we have been used to for months.

Now we get this...

It doesn't matter what you check adobe freezes. This is happening on computers all over the organization. The uninstall reinstall doesn't work. The only way I have been able to work around this for Pro and DC users is to install the 32 bit version. The newest 64 bit version is worthless. And yes I did add the folders to exceptions in the security, didn't fix a thing. Your newest version released last week is a nightmare!!!!! Get it fixed please!

Hi there

Would you mind collecting the Crash/freeze logs https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html and share them via any cloud storage. Just upload the log file to the cloud and generate the link and share that link with us for further investigation.

Hi @Robert3241964684xd

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

The hamburger menu is available in the New Acrobat Experience. You may switch to the new Acrobat from the View Tab > Enable new Acrobat as shown in the screenshot below:

Amal,

Thank you for that additional information.

My View dropdown menu contains all of the options included in your cropped screenshot except Enable new Acrobat.

(To reconfirm, my Acrobat version is 2023.001.220174 | 64 bit.)

Your thoughts as to how I should be able to display the dropdown option "Enable new Acrobat", given the recent Acrobat version, and given that the interface displays no hamburger icon in the upper left corner?

Thanks

Robert
