Please help I have these fields set on the payment schedule to calculate from the total contract price, however I would like users to be able to edit these fields when necessary. Currently it does not allow this once the fields populate. How can I accomplish this?

A calculated field cannot be edited by the user.

It's possible, but tricky. You need to clearly define "when necessary". When should the value be automatically calculated, and when not, exactly?
