How to get Acrobat Pro 2020 activated on MacOS Ventura?

Hi all,

I have a Acrobat Pro 2020 MacOS license. Unfortunately my old laptop with MacOS High Sierra got stolen. I have now a second hand Mac Mini with MacOS Ventura.

According to this page https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/macos-ventura-compatibility-common-issues.html Acrobat Pro 2020 is compatible with Ventura.

Luckily I was able to migrate my old High Sierra config from a backup into Ventura. Because the jump from High Sierra to Ventura is a big jump, I uninstalled Acrobat Pro 2020 by using the Acrobat uninstaller before reinstalling it. I also made sure everything my folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe and every file that started with com.adobe.* was removed from ~/Library/Preferences.

I then downloaded my .dmg from my account page and could use the mentioned serial number on that page to start the install. The install completed without any issues. I kept my Mac on during the night so Acrobat Pro would update itself (it did indeed).

What I think to see in the Acrobat Updater DC.log is that Acrobat Pro is updated from 20.001.30002.0 to 20.005.30436. it tries to update to 20.005.30441 several times but for some reason it fails. It does closes the update in the log with: No update available. Application Adobe Acrobat is up-to-date.

When I launch Acrobat Pro it does and then shows my the Acrobat Licensing Application with the friendly request to sign in first. When I click on Sign In Now, I got an empty window that stays empty forever. When I close the window, it kindly asks me if I want to quit the Acrobat Licensing Application, and I click on Yes, it quits, so there no crash.

If I look in the acrolicLog.log, I see:

How can I get Acrobat Pro 2020 activated on MacOS Ventura?

Update April 2023 For those who search for an answer (and solution):Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020 classic DOES run on MacOS Ventura.I was able to accomplish this on MacOS Ventura 13.3.1 Intel, and used Acrobat Pro 2020 Classic version 20 (that later was updated to 2020.005.30467 by using the check updates feature in Abrobat Pro). Here is how I got it working (with the help of Adobe support).Step 1: Get Creative CloudInstall Adobe Creative Cloud without any applications, (and don't worry, you still gonna use your Acrobat Pro 2020 classic and you don't need a subscription).Once installed, sign into Creative Cloud with your Adobe ID. Step 2: Download the installer for Acrobat 2020 ProGo to https://www.adobe.com/ and sign in with your Adobe ID. Go to your account page where your license key and download link is shown for Acrobat Pro 2020 MacOS. Step 3: Install Acrobat 2020 ProOpen the downloaded installer for Acrobat 2020 Pro MacOS and let it install Acrobat Pro 2020, the usual way. Step 4: Activate your Acrobat Pro 2020Open Acrobat 2020. You see the Adobe Licensing Application. Sign in and activate your product. The trick here is that you first installed Creative Cloud that is equipped with a more recent version of the Adobe Licensing Application capable of activating your Acrobat 2020 Pro product on MacOS Ventura.If you did not first install Creative Cloud, you just see a blank screen in the Adobe Licening Application when you want to sign in to activate your Acrobat product. Q: Do you need Creative Cloud running?A: No. Just disable auto launch at MacOS login and quit the Creative Cloud application. Enjoy! Johan

If it is supported, you should be able to activate the program. In case it is supported, check with Adobe customer service. Adobe customer care can be contacted by beginning a secure chat session at https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen. Pop-up blockers need to be disabled, you need to accept cookies!
