Got asked this question today at work and I don't really have a valid answer or explanation for it.
A colleauge in another school is sending many PDFs to another person but when the recipient opens them up they are not showing at 100% - rather at 75% and this is apparantely annoying to the recipient as she has to sort through many of these PDFs every day (sounds pedantic i know - wish she could see what problems i have to overcome in my job as a developer...)
I ran some tests with some other PDFs and had all kinds of sizes (75%, 200%, 148%, etc) some did come in at 100% but not many. I suspect you set the default size when you actually create the PDF, easy enough to do from word and other programs but what about when you are using a scanner (which is what my work colleauge is using). Just wondering if anyone out there has an answer for this because I'm kinda stumped and quite frankly nonchalant.
cheers,

You can set it at any point, actually, but if the user has a local preference it will override this setting.
To do so, go to: File - Properties - Initial View - Magnification.

[Moved this to Acrobat forum, as it's not related to CreatePDF.]

In Acrobat/Reader, you can set a user preference to open documents at a particular view (magnification) settting. This will work for documents that do not have the initial view setting specified. There is another user accessibility preference that can override the initial view that a document specifies. The actual resulting zoom depends on the size of the window. For example, if you set the accessibility overrride to 100% zoom, the document may be displayed at 147% if it can display the width of the document given the current window size. Finally, a document can override this preference using an action that's triggered when the document is opened. So there are a number of possibilities and it can get a bit confusing with so many things that can affect this.

Thanks guys, appreciate your help. Tested out the Initial view parameters and it seemed to work for me. Have yet to test it out with the person who has all the question as she is away. Looks like a solution to me! Make sure the parameters are set at both ends.
Cheers!

In the latest version I have; I had to go to Edit -> Preferences; select the Page Display category and set zoom = 100%
