How to remove Adobe AcroCEF and other Adobe background processes

I use Madcap Flare and find that processes keeping locking my output folders (where PDFs are generated by Flare) meaning Flare will not build files. When I check the processes are always Adobe background processes.

Is there a way of switching off background without having to uninstall Adobe entirely (which if not looks like have to be our solution).
