How to remove lines around hyperlinks

I'm using Adobe Acrobat DC on Creative Cloud. I've selected invisible rectangle, but a black line still shows up around the hyperlinked area on the PDF. I can change the line color or type of line, but I there's no option for 'no color'. I previously had Adobe Acrobat Pro and the no color option was available in the dialog box when you first create the hyperlink.

Does anyone know how to edit the setting or delete the lines? Even when I change the color for the line, a black line still shows up.

If you selected "Invisible rectangle" there shouldn't be any line surrounding the link, but you need to make sure to exit the links edit mode by selecting the Hand tool for it to happen.

  1. Open the PDF in Acrobat:

    • Open the PDF document in Adobe Acrobat DC.
  2. Select the Link Tool:

    • Go to the "Tools" pane on the right side of the screen.
    • Under "Create & Edit," select "Link."
  3. Select the Hyperlink:

    • Click on the hyperlink in your document to select it.
  4. Open the Link Properties:

    • Right-click on the selected hyperlink and choose "Properties" from the context menu.
  5. Edit Appearance:

    • In the Link Properties dialog box, go to the "Appearance" tab.
  6. Set Border Color to "No Color":

    • Under the "Border Color" section, click on the color square.
    • In the Color Picker, select "No Color" or set the opacity to 0%.
  7. Click "OK":

    • Click the "OK" button to apply the changes.
  8. Save the Document:

    • Save the PDF document to preserve the changes.

Thanks, that's what it was. I was still in edit mode.
