Also, this won't happen if you are making the PDF if you stop using "print to PDF" from Word. There are better ways.

As suggested above, you can change the document's title from the Document Properties.

Open PDF> right click> Ctrl+D> Document Properties> Description

Also, in Acrobat's preferences, you can change the following settings:

Acrobat>edit>Preferences>Documents> "Always use the filename as the document title.">OK

it doesnt work.. in the example bove..it says job_order_11-25-25-BJORN

Actually, the first recommendation is incorrect.

Step 1: Open the Document Properties and in the first tab (Description), type what you want to show in the top bar into the Title field. Example, Job Order 11-25-15. The Title field controls what appears in the top bar in Acrobat.

Step 2: Move to the Initial View tab, and choose the option to Show: Document Title. This forces Acrobat to pick up what you typed into the Title field in step 1.

Step 3 is optional: you can change your preferences in your copy of Acrobat to always show the Title rather than the File Name, but it only works on YOUR computer, not anyone elses. So we generally don't do it. But in case you do want this just for YOUR computer, then here are the correct settings:
