Question

Hyperlinks only transfer into PDF from MS Word on the first page of the document

For the last month, whenever I have a MS Word file that I need to convert to a PDF, if I have multiple pages with hyperlinks, PDF only pulls over the hyprelinks from the first page. Is there a setting I should change so that the hyperlinks from the full document are pulled into the PDF?

Hi @RC-DW

Thanks for reaching out.

When you say, MS word is converted to PDF. How did this conversion go through?

Was it using MS Word>File>Save as PDF, or do you have Adobe Acrobat DC installed and saves the MS word file using Fiel>Save as Adobe PDF?

Check this help article for the exact method of conversion https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/how-to/create-pdf-files-word-excel-website.html

If this doesn't work,

Would you mind sharing a sample file with us? We want to test the same at our end to see if the issue is reproducible or not.

You can upload the file on Document Cloud web and share the link here.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Hello Akanchha,

Thank you for getting back to me and offering assistance. Regarding converting into a PDF, I actually tried both ways, MS Word to save as PDF & by opening Adobe Acrobat DC to create a PDF from a MS Word file. Both resulted in only populating hyperlinks in the first page of the file.

Here's a link to the Word file, there are quite a few different hyperlinks on every page that used to all pull into the PDF once converted but only recently have I been encountering issues.

How do you convert from Word to PDF? Are you using the export function that is built into Word, or are you using the functionality that Acrobat adds to Word?

I've tried the "Save as a PDF" function within MS Word as well as the create a PDF function in Adobe Acrobat DC
