I have purchased adobe CS4 and Acrobat in the past and don't feel I should be forced to buy them again.  the ones I have worked just fine for the small amount I do.  I try to save a word or excel doc as pdf and it doesn't let me anymore, the option isn't available in the drop-down box under "save as".  this is not right!

help me please.

Ken

Hi Ken,

Typically when things stop working as you are describing, one part of the system has been changed, such as when you install a new operating system, old software may stop working. What has been changed that it stopped working?

We need exact versions of your OS, Acrobat, and Office. Also, clarify what you mean by “Adobe CS4”. Adobe sold individual software and various versions of Suites in the days of CS4.

Not all PDFs are made using Adobe Acrobat. If you are trying to use Save As in MS Office, it’s a Microsoft PDF, not an Adobe PDF, and you might need to ask on the Microsoft forums. To make an Adobe PDF using PDFMaker in Office, use the Acrobat tab.

Save as PDF in Word is nothing to do with Acrobat. Save as Adobe PDF comes from Acrobat but won’t work with current versions of Office - you would need to upgrade if you want the new feature of working with new Office.

What's your exact version of Acrobat, and what's the version of Office and OS?
