I cannot open attachments anymore

Dear Acrobat,

My account says I have Acrobat Pro...I paid for this.  Everything has been fine until recently, I can no longer open attachments with emails when its in this form.  I can Preview the attachment and at least read it, but thats it.  When I try to open like I always have, I get a half-page shot of the file and its all in grey, and my cursor doesn't work to even close it.

I have to be able to open all attachments, read them, edit them, save them, send them on, etc.

@benjamin2025 this sounds so frustrating! The first thing I would do is a simple restart of your computer can often resolve temporary software glitches that might be interfering with Acrobat. If that doesn't help, try repairing your Acrobat Pro installation. You can usually find this option within the Acrobat Pro application itself under the "Help" menu, often labeled something like "Repair Installation" or "Detect and Repair Installation." This process can fix corrupted files that might be causing the issue. Another common cause for this type of problem is outdated software, so ensure that both your email client and Acrobat Pro are updated to their latest versions. Check for updates within each application's settings or help menu.


Finally, it's possible that a recent update or another program might be conflicting with Acrobat. If so, temporarily disabling the new software or even rolling back to a previous version of Acrobat (if possible) could help identify the conflict.
