I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. Does anyone know how to edit the text using Windows 10?

I've been told by Adobe that my version is old and not compatible with Windows 10, but I'm hoping I can find a way to edit the text (not the fields) instead of having to upgrade and instead of having to edit in Word and then transform back to a PDF.

What Adobe told you is true, Acrobat 9 (and X) is not supported on Windows 10. It came out years before Windows 10 was even on the horizon, so it's not surprising that there are problems. There is no way around that. You either have to upgrade Acrobat to at least Acrobat XI (and then use the latest updates for that version), or downgrade your operating system in order to run Acrobat 9. One option (and that is the one that I use to run previous versions of Acrobat) is to run an earlier version of Windows in a virtual machine on top of your current operating system. You can then use Acrobat 9 in a e.g. Windows 7 environment on your computer running Windows 10.

Not sure about Acrobat 9 Standard, but Adobe Acrobat 9.5 Pro can still work under Windows 10.

I believe the tool for doing that in Acrobat 9 was called the Text TouchUp tool. It should be located under Tools - Advanced Editing.

Don't expect much of it, though. This function was pretty primitive in Acrobat 9. It is vastly improved in later versions, though.

Edit: Just noticed you're talking about Acrobat 9 Standard. It's possible this tool doesn't exist there at all, only in the Pro version...
