Installer takes inordinate amount of time and makes unexplained and unauthorized changes to my computer

I must preface this by saying I have never posted to a support forum before.  I just purchased and downloaded Acrobat Pro DC and will be uninstalling it as soon as it installs, if ever.  It's been installing for over 20 minutes, and making changes that I was not made aware of before installing, such as impacting Office applications, restarting the Explorer, etc.  This should be a standalone application.  It does one simple thing: editing PDFs.  I was already upset by the idea that a simple tool is now a subscription service, but a simple tool, turned service, turned bloatware is simply unacceptable.

I highly recommend that engineering review and streamline the installation process and seek authorization for module installations, allowing users to opt out of ones they don't want.  All I wanted was the ability to edit and redact PDFs, and instead I'm getting a behemoth.
