Is Adobe Reader Extension used going to get expired soon and if so what is alternative for the same?

I have been doing PDF Form design/validation/Barcode generation etc using Adobe acrobat Pro DC. After the development licensing is being done via Adobe Reader extension. After the licensing the barcode data comes fine in Adobe reader also. 

I need to know whether the Adobe reader extension used for licensing is going to expire and if so what is the alternative to do the same. 

Awaiting a response asap.

    Why, specifically, are you concerned that extensions (LiveCycle Reader Extension? AEM Reader Extensions?) will expire? What app and what version do you run to add extensions?
