The under-the-skin structure and tagging will have a huge impact on how your document is read aloud.  In a well structured PDF, one should be able to read aloud an entire page, or even an entire document. But the structure is imperative to it being done properly and accurately.

Is your issue just with one docuemtn in particular, or is it an issue with multiple docs?

Hi Marceloc

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, Reading aloud doesn't work continuously, so you have to "enter" after each paragraph.

What is the workflow/steps you are doing to read out loud the PDF document?

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC application. Go to Help menu > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

To read out loud the document must be accessible, otherwise it may not be read at all or it may be read in the wrong order.

To activate Read Out Loud:

  1. On the View menu, choose Read Out Loud > Activate Read Out Loud.
  2. Again go to View > Read Out Loud and then choose an appropriate option for reading:
    • To read the current page, choose Read This Page Only.
    • To read the entire document, choose Read To End of Document.
