Question

Is it unfair to charge me €75 cancellation fee for Adobe Acrobat subscription after trial period?

I recently found myself in a frustrating situation with my Adobe Acrobat subscription. I signed up for the trial version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, but I completely forgot to cancel it before the trial ended. Now, I’m stuck with a monthly subscription, and when I tried to cancel, I was told I have to pay a €75 cancellation fee because I was automatically switched to the annual plan.

I am not using Acrobat Reader at all, and I find it really unfair to be charged such a high cancellation fee just for forgetting to cancel the trial. I understand there’s a contract in place, but it feels like a hidden trap for those who forget to cancel.

Has anyone else experienced this situation? Is there any way to cancel my subscription without having to pay these excessive fees? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The 7-day trial rolls into an annual plan if you don't cancel within those seven days. See this site about cancellations and subscriptions:

https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/using/creative-cloud-subscription-terms.html#cancel

The signup clearly states the billing terms and includes the dates that apply to your sign-up.

Hello Jane,

Thank you for your response and for providing the information.

I completely understand the terms of the subscription, and I acknowledge
that it was my mistake to forget to cancel the trial within the 7-day
period. However, I would like to emphasize that I have not used Adobe
Acrobat at all after the trial period, and this was simply an oversight on
my part.

Given that I have not used the application, I kindly ask if there is any
possibility to cancel my subscription without the cancellation fee. I would
really appreciate your understanding and any assistance you can provide in
resolving this matter.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Bastien
