I finally upgraded to Acrobat Pro DC after keepinf Acrobat X Pro. Now I really wish that I hadnt. The OCR speed is ridculously slow compared to Acrobat Pro X. Is there any way to improve the speed of OCRing with this newest version as It is seriously affecting workflow.

old post, but as a suggestion, use the searchable image output option.
Usually you are just wanting to be able to search the document anyway. If you really need the covert to editable text/images option you'll just have to wait.
I've heard that searchable image option has more accurate ocr over the editable text/image option, but i've never tested it.

I can't say for sure but are you comparing apples to apples? By that I mean is the type of document scanned the same? Is the resolution the same? Is the quality of the scan the same? Is your computer the same? Is the OS of the computer the same?

I could go on but you get the idea. FWIW, I found no difference between the speed of Acrobat 9, X, XI, and DC. But in each case, my parameters of the thing being OCRed was the same.

Did you have differences from before versus now?

Exact Same computer, operating system, and quality of scanned files (digitized microfiche). Got a subcription for DC last week, and uninstalled Pro X two days ago. I Was getting around 1 page every 2 seconds with Acrobat Pro X, and around 4 seconds per page on Pro DC. with around 750,000 pages per box, and 90+ boxes to process the difference is very noticable.

Acrobat is not really suited for this kind of volume. I recommend you look for an alternative, like ABBYY FineReader. And no, you can't make Acrobat go faster...
